Reiki
Reiki is an energy based healing system that works with the natural universal life force energy. Reiki assists the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It is spiritual in nature but has no dogma or creed.
The origin of Reiki can be traced back to ancient Tibet thousands of years ago. This technique was rediscovered in the mid 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. It was brought to the U.S. by a Japanese-American woman named Hawayo Takata. Hawayo was trained in Tokyo by Chujiro Hayaski in 1938; he was one of the Reiki Masters initiated by Dr. Usui. Reiki has grown to be the most popular form of Energetic Healing around the World.
Reiki is one of the few forms of healing that can be used to heal oneself. It does not conflict with other health-care, but enhances the results. It does not interfere with traditional medical treatment, but facilitates benefits. Reiki speeds the healing process, and provides a source of restoring energy while one is ill, under medical treatment, or in recovery. It can be used as a complementary treatment to any other Therapy, and it can be used to treat headaches, back pain and many more conditions. It works well for people in a coma, cancer patients, and with conditions where other therapies cannot be applied because it would be too uncomfortable for the client to be touched. It relaxes and balances the energies in the body.
Generally, a Reiki treatment will last 45 to 60 minutes and you are fully clothed. Many people report feeling heat, energy waves, tingling or a sense of shifting during their treatment. Every person will experience what is appropriate for their needs.
